DA U18 Recap: Concorde’s on Fire

Goals are coming from everywhere. Shutouts are becoming routine.

And most importantly for Concorde Fire, they are winning.

Concorde Fire extend its win streak to six matches following weekend victories over Chargers SC and IMG Academy. The Georgia team is now in second place in the Southeast Division, and making strides toward the top. During the past two weeks, Concorde (10-2-0) knocked off the Carolina Rapids, a result that allowed the team to overtake the Rapids for second place, and IMG Academy, avenging an early loss to the Florida side.

Concorde Fire has scored 25 goals in its last seven matches and goals are coming from several players. In fact, 11 have scored this year already. Dembakwi Yomba leads the team with six goals, followed by Cameron Mosley with five and Adam Abdellaoui and Khalil Stewart with four each. Cornell commit Allen Michael Capo highlights a defense that has five shutouts in its last seven outings.

Who’s Hot: Real Colorado extended its undefeated run to seven matches with a win over Colorado Rush. The result helps Real Colorado move into third place in the Frontier Division, just fractions behind Colorado Rush for second place.

Erik Palmer-Brown and Mason Leonard netted a pair of late goals as Sporting Kansas City topped Texans SC Houston 2-0. … The Colorado Rapids received goals from five players in 5-0 win over Texas Rush. … Graham Smith scored the winner as Real Colorado defeated Colorado Rush 1-0.

Ahinga Selemani and Blake Townes scored early goals to carry CSA Wolves past Indiana Fire 2-0. … Mitchell LaGro’s 81st minute goal lifted Solar Chelsea past Andromeda 2-1. … Denzel Ward had the final say as his goal ended a back-and-forth scoring match, leading Texas Rush to a 3-2 win over Sporting Kansas City…. Who’s Hot: Real Salt Lake-AZ bounced back from its first non-win (a tie), with a 6-0 victory over Pateadores in the only match played by West Conference teams.
