DA U16 Recap: Galaxy, Surf win big

The LA Galaxy and San Diego Surf each posted one-sided victories Saturday, which secured their places among the best of the West so far this season.

LA Galaxy posted a 6-0 win over rival Chivas USA, while the Surf dominated Nomads SC 5-0.

The results leave those teams as the only undefeated squads remaining in the West Conference.

East

Leading the Way: Northeast - 1. New York Red Bulls (3-0-0, 3.00), 2. Albertson SC (5-2-0, 2.14). Atlantic - 1. PA Classics (6-0-0, 3.00), 2. PDA (6-1-0, 2.57). Southeast - 1. Kendall SC (6-1-0, 2.57), 2.
Weston FC (4-1-1, 2.17).

Who’s Hot: DC United. The team’s 1-0 win over PDA not only knocked PDA from first in the division, but also moved DC United up to fourth.

Sunday
Juan Jose Hernandez scored the only goal as Orlando City edged Concorde Fire 1-0. … Owen Marshall’s 45th minute goal gave DC United a 1-0 win over PDA. … Oakwood SC edged Everton FC Westchester 2-1.

Saturday
Victor Falck scored in the closing minutes, his second goal of the match, as the Virginia Rush defeated Baltimore Bays Chelsea 3-2. … Jason Rocha scored twice as Continental FC DELCO topped the Richmond Strikers 3-0. … Jayson Isaacs scored both goals to lead Weston FC over Chargers SC 2-0. … Brandon Anselmo’s 38th minute goal ended up as the match-winner as the Carolina Rapids rallied for a 2-1 win over North Carolina Fusion. … Karan Padmakumar netted the lone goal as IMG Academy defeated Kendall SC 1-0. … Cal Jennings scored twice, but it was Matt Morgan’s goal in the 59th minute that proved to be the difference as Georgia United edged Orlando City 3-2. … Three players scored to help BSC CT Academy to a 3-0 win over Seacoast United. … PA Classics defeated the Richmond Kickers 3-0. … Concorde Fire beat South Carolina United Battery 4-0. … Charlotte SAand Capital Area RailHawks played to a 1-1 draw.

Central

Leading the Way: Frontier - 1. FC Dallas (3-0-0, 3.00), 2. Real Colorado (2-0-1, 2.33) and Colorado Rush (2-0-1, 2.33). Mid-America: 1. Chicago Magic PSG (6-2-0, 2.25), 2. Scott Gallagher-Mo. (6-1-2, 2.22).

Who’s Hot: Vardar won a pair of weekend matches to improved to 4-1-3 on the season and move into third place in the division.

Sunday
Allen Shaw’s 28th minute score stood up as Vardar defeated FC Wisconsin 1-0. … FC Dallas received goals from three players in a 3-0 win over the Dallas Texans. … Sockers FC defeated CSA Wolves 2-1 … Colorado Rapids and Texas Rush played to a 1-1 draw. … Minnesota Thunder Academy topped Chicago Magic PSG 4-2. … Solar Chelsea defeated Sporting Kansas City 3-2.

Kendall Stork scored the first three goals of the match as Chicago Magic PSG defeated Shattuck-St. Mary’s 6-0. … Mauricio Pineda and Ben Rhoder scored late goals as thre Chicago Fire rallied for a 2-1 win over Minnesota Thunder Academy. … Nash Popovic scored twice to help Vardar to a 4-0 win over Sockers FC. Pearce Skinner was in goal for the win. … FC Wisconsin received a pair of early goals from Adetunji Akindes and Todor Atlija for a 2-1 win over CSA Wolves. … Scott Gallagher-Mo. pulled back into playoff contention with a 3-0 win over Indiana Fire. … Andromeda and San Antonio Scorpions played to a scoreless tie. Who’s Hot: LA Galaxy and the San Diego Surf are the only remaining undefeated teams in the West Conference.
