Plano West (Plano, Texas) freshman Ryan Darby has verbally committed to play men’s lacrosse for Johns Hopkins.

The goalie also considered UNC, Duke, Maryland, Ohio State, and University of Pennsylvania.

“Since I began playing lacrosse, Hopkins has been my dream school. It is truly an honor to have the opportunity to play for a school that has such great coaches and lacrosse tradition,” Darby said. “I was very impressed with the campus, the academics, and the class sizes. Coach Pietramala confirmed all of my beliefs about the school and what it had to offer me. I believe Hopkins is the perfect school for me to continue to develop as an athlete and a student. To sum up why I chose Hopkins is simply to say because it’s Hopkins!.”

Darby has been a Maverik Showtime Invitational Invitee, Philly Invitational Invitee, Regional All-Star Team (7th/8th grades), Denver Shootout Game MVP in each of the last two years and a member of the C2C 2017 National Team.

The C2C Lacrosse member also attended the C2C Spotlight Showcase, UP Lax Fall Shootout and the US Lacrosse U15 National Championships.
