Rating Days are one way to qualify for the sixth annual Nike+ Football The Opening Finals presented by Nike+ Football, to be held in early July at the Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Ore. This competition will include the sixth-annual Nike+ Football Rating National Championship, which has been televised by ESPNU and will crown the nation’s best high school football athlete.

Attending one of the Rating Days gives each athlete the opportunity to get professionally Nike+ Football Rating tested. The rating comes from a series of sport-specific tests and gives athletes a chance to see their strengths and weaknesses. Athletes have a chance to measure themselves against other elite players in their class.

There is an opportunity for great recruiting exposure and coverage. There will be stories, photos and videos posted on StudentSports.com recapping the top performers.

FAQ

Q: What is a Nike+ Football The Opening Rating Day? Where are the Nike Football Combines?
A: The Nike Football Combines are now called Nike+ Football The Opening Rating Days. Everything you need to know about the Rating Days can be found in the below Q&A.

Q: Who can attend a Nike+ Football The Opening Rating Day? Can seniors (Class of 2016) attend a Nike+ Football The Opening Rating Day?
A: The Nike+ Football The Opening Rating Days are for athletes in the graduating classes of 2017, 2018, and 2019 who are probable varsity athletes for the 2016 fall season. Seniors and middle school athletes are not allowed at a Rating Day. Players at a post-graduate program also will not be able to attend.

Q: What’s the cost to attend a Nike+ Football The Opening Rating Day?
A: Rating Days are FREE.

Q: Can a bad performance at a Nike+ Football The Opening Rating Day hurt my stock?
A: No, because of the “scratch rule.” Student Sports and Nike+ Football care about the athletes first. If an athlete does not like a particular mark, the time or mark may be scratched from the results. Even so, college coaches put more emphasis on how players perform in pads. A disappointing time in the 40 will not lead to colleges dropping a player. At past Nike+ Football events, running backs and wide receivers have run 4.8′s and linebackers run 5.2′s and still sign with major D-I programs. Current Houston Texans standout defensive end J.J. Watt clocked a 5.07 40-yard dash at 225 pounds at a Nike Football Training Camp (Now known as Nike+ Football The Opening Regionals) when he was in high school, and obviously the All-Pro and MVP candidate has not let that slow him down. Use your times, marks and Rating to honestly evaluate yourself as a player and see where you can work to improve your athleticism through training.
