Today StudentSportsBaseball.com releases the top 100 high school players in the 2014 class. Headed into the 2014 season, pitching is a premium, with 14 of the top 20 all being pitchers. As noted in an earlier post, Kolek hit 100 at the Area Code workout in Grand Prairie and when he made the trip out to Long Beach on the Rangers team, he was in the mid-90s.

Brady Aiken is the top lefty in the class and has a good mix of pitches. Throwing in the low-90s, Aiken has a bright future ahead of him.

Florida State has five commits in the top 100, and three of those players rest in the top ten.

Really hope you guys watch Shane Mardirosian from MLking HS California. UCSB committ and had good showings at EBS, Area Codes , Jesse Flores,MLB showcase at urban youth. Great athlete and kid and been getting many scouts out at practices, workouts and games. Hope to see some interest from student sports and he comes from a small name school and there has never had anyone drafted out of King yet! Take care and thanks for the time

Absolutely. Saw him play in the Area Code Games and UCSB got a good one.

Shocked that Ryan Lillard SS/3B (Urbandale, IA) is not on this list. He is definitely a top five Midwest prospect and has a huge upside. He was in your top 20 after the Area Code Games??? How is he not on this list now?
